Your privacy, in plain language.
Save Babe needs very little about you. This page lists what we collect, what stays in your browser, who else is involved and what you can do about it. Last updated October 22, 2026.
The short version
- We never ask for your exact location. You choose a ZIP, and distances are measured from its center.
- We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run advertising or analytics trackers.
- Your saved deals and your look stay in your browser. We never receive them.
- The latest deals are public. Searching needs a free account, so every shopper gets the same daily allowance.
What we collect
Searches. When you search or pick a ZIP, that ZIP and any item words are in the page address we receive, like any website. When search limits are on, we also store the ZIP and item words of each search with your account id, for the day, so we can count your searches against your daily allowance. We don’t count or track visitors who aren’t signed in.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical details of each request, such as the address requested, your IP address and your browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
Accounts. When you sign in, our sign-in provider (Clerk) collects what you sign in with, such as your email address and, with Google, your name and profile picture, and sets its own cookies to keep you signed in. We keep your account id, your plan and your search counts. There is no password: you sign in with Google or a one-time code sent to your email.
What stays in your browser
Saved deals and your chosen look (colors) are kept in your browser’s local storage on your device, under the names save-babe.saved.v1 and save-babe.mood.v1. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
Who else is involved
- Hosting and database. Save Babe runs on cloud hosting and a cloud database, which process requests for us.
- Map tiles. The map view loads its background from OpenFreeMap (OpenStreetMap data), so that service sees your IP address when a map is shown.
- Directions. Tapping directions opens Google Maps with the store’s address. Nothing is sent until you tap.
- Product photos. We fetch retailer product photos on our servers and pass them on, so your browser doesn’t contact the retailer to load them.
- Retailer links. “View at” links open the retailer’s own site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Payments. Pro isn’t open yet. When it is, a payment processor will handle your card, and we won’t see or store your full card number.
Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants
If you add the Save Babe connector to an assistant, the assistant sends us a ZIP and a few item keywords for each request. We don’t receive your conversation. What the assistant does with your chat is governed by its own privacy policy.
How long we keep things
Daily search counts and account records are kept only as long as we need them to run, limit and protect the service. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider on its own schedule.
Your choices
- Block or clear cookies and site data at any time. You’ll be signed out; the latest deals stay visible.
- Ask to see, correct or delete the data tied to your account, or to close it.
- Use any ZIP you like. You never have to share where you live.
Children
Save Babe is for general audiences and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and its date. Material changes will be flagged on the site before they take effect.
